Congratulations to Disney, Disney's Animal Kingdom ("DAK"), and first-time mother Kashata!

On February 19th, Disney's Animal Kingdom welcomed a new member into their animal family-a newborn endangered western lowland gorilla.  Guests to DAK can see the baby along the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.

The baby's gender is still unknown because Kashata is holding the baby close to her body, and Cast Members have been unable to determine what sex it is.  Kashata is said to be an excellent Mother and experiencing no problems so far.  Once the sex is known, a name will be chosen.
