Today's side deal from plum district is $17 for entry into the "Extreme Makeover" for the Woman's Soul & Fibromyalgia Benfit.  I don't know too much about this, so here are the details:

Are you the high-heel queen of the A-T-L? No? Maybe you just like watching other women totter precariously while you strut smoothly by in your flats? Or perhaps you're looking to build your professional skills? 

Whether you rock the heels or keep it low, you won’t want to miss the Stiletto Challenge at the Opening Reception for the 2nd Annual “Extreme Makeover” for the Woman’s Soul Summit - Professional Edition, being held at AREA Atlanta in Midtown on October 22, 2010, from 6 – 9 pm. Come see local women including real (like, really real) housewives, AUC students, and possibly even some celebs and political figures, competing in 4-inch-plus heels in front of a panel of judges. A professional model will be on hand (on foot?) to demonstrate how to strut in staggeringly high heels. There will also be shopping, music, pampering treatments, and other soul-soothing activities throughout the evening. All proceeds will benefit women with fibromyalgia.

Themed “Born to Soar,” on Oct. 23, from 12pm - 3pm, the educational portion of the summit will take place at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Buckhead. There, winners of the "Born to Soar" essay contest and the female subjects of their stories will be honored. Attendees will also learn from subject-matter experts how to master social networking, personal branding, finances and success strategies, and health and wellness. In addition, Houston-based educator and longtime fibromyalgia sufferer Christy Cobb will share the inspiring story of strength and determination that helped her circumvent the confines of the disease.

A night of fun and philanthropy—and at least a few good laughs—awaits at the Opening Reception of the "Extreme Makeover" for the Woman’s Soul Summit.
