In case you haven't heard, Disney's Beauty and the Beast is returning to Atlanta's Fox Theatre this January!  The ad above has been appearing in local newspapers for weeks now, and as a big Disney fan, I am excited to have another Disney production roll into town.

However, I am not the only one excited to see this play make another run thru Atlanta as Christopher B. Manos, Producer of Theater of the Stars states, “We are thrilled to bring back the award-winning smash hit Broadway musical, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.”

Beauty and the Beast is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress.  If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Disney’s stage version of this show features the animated film’s Academy Award®-winning score with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, with additional songs with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Tim Rice.

...and the original creators of the Broadway production are together again for this new touring production! The play is directed by Rob Roth and choreographed by Matt West, with Costume Design by Ann Hould-Ward (Tony Award® winner for her work on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), Lighting Design by Natasha Katz, Scenic Design by Stanley A. Meyer, Sound Design by John Petrafesa Jr., and Music Supervision by Michael Kosarin.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has become an international sensation and has played to over 35 million people worldwide in 21 countries thus far!  It will play the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta from January 12-16, 2010.  Special half-price tickets are available for the Wednesday, January 12th, show and the Thursday, January 13th show.

You can get tickets either by calling 800-982-2787 or by purchasing on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.  Ticket prices range from $25-$60, and special group rates are available through the Fox Group Sales Dept. at 404-881-2000.

I am very excited to be seeing this show live and am, in particular, looking forward to all the special effects Disney is known for!  January can't get here quick enough!

Why not think about joining me?  Tickets to this show would make an excellent Christmas present for the kids in your family.

Merry Christmas!
