USA Gymnastics is preparing to "Turn the World Upside Down" on National Gymnastics Day, Saturday, September 22, 2012. In conjunction with our National Gymnastics Day efforts, the USA Gymnastics Fitness Program is partnering with First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative to help get more than a million young people involved in sports.
Last year, the theme was handstands, but this year, anything goes. Get coaches, friends, classmates and parents involved by doing a flip, roll, cartwheel, back hip circle, handstand, flip into the pit, etc.; the possibilities are endless. Please take a picture of your “upside down” activity, and share it on the USA Gymnastics Facebook page, along with how many participated in the activity, and your city and state to join in on the fun.  After the event concludes, we will announce the number of nationwide participants on www.usagym.org, Facebook and Twitter!
USA Gymnastics is also teaming up with the Children's Miracle Network, which benefits children battling illnesses in the local communities across the nation, to raise awareness and donations for this amazing charity. So, as you and your friends, teammates, and family have fun “Turning the World Upside Down” on National Gymnastics Day, let’s support a great cause and turn our piggy banks 'upside down' too!
