Winter is winding down, and March marks the start of warmer days and spring fever. To help gardeners of all levels get a head start on the coming growing season, Pike Nurseries is hosting a variety of FREE classes and events all month long. Warm weather is on the horizon, which means it’s almost time for the landscape to spring back to life! To help customers ready their lawns for the upcoming growing season, Pike Nurseries is hosting a free class to teach guests how to prevent weeds, fertilize and maintain a beautiful lawn. With professional tips from the experts at Pike Nurseries, customers can keep their lawns looking lush and green all season long.

Growing Strawberries Class & Super Strawberry Saturday
Saturday, March 12 at 9 a.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

With spring comes the start of strawberry planting season! Pike Nurseries is gearing up to host its annual Super Strawberry Saturday event at all store locations to celebrate this famed fruit. During the devoted day, customers can take part in a complimentary class at 9 a.m. on how to plant these sweet, juicy berries in a pot and in the ground. With any purchase throughout the day, they will also receive a FREE bareroot strawberry plant (while supplies last), along with planting instructions, to take home, harvest and make their strawberry garden a reality! Whether customers plan to use their home-grown strawberries to top their morning cereal, add sweetness to a smoothie or spread in a strawberry jam, Pike Nurseries has the expert advice to ensure this tasty fruit is planted to perfection! 

Grow your Own Herbs Class
Saturday, March 19 at 9 a.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

Cooking with home-grown herbs is tasty, convenient and cost effective. Whether it’s sprinkling chopped chives over soup, adding oregano to an Italian dish or mixing mint in a cup of tea, the fresh flavors of home-grown herbs can spice up any ordinary recipe. To give guests the opportunity to have fresh, edible plants at their fingertips, the experts at Pike Nurseries will discuss tips for choosing, planting and caring for herbs during this free class.

Grilling Event
Saturday, March 19, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

March 20 marks the official end of winter! To help customers kick off the start of the growing season and get in the spring spirit, Pike Nurseries is offering complimentary hotdogs grilled on the Kamado Joe or Saber Grill from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for shoppers (while supplies last)!
