This week, we lost a very dear man in our Church family. His name was T. Blue Sanderson, but we all knew him as Santa.
He was the REAL Santa, and everyone knew it. When my boys (now 9 and 13) told me Santa wasn't real because all their school friends told them he wasn't, I said, "Well, did you tell them Santa goes to Church with you and sings in the choir too?" (It always seemed a good way to keep "Santa" going for another year, and a good way to get my boys to invite their friends to Church!)
When I had to break the news of T. Blue's death to my boys, my nine-year old asked me who would bring the presents this year since Santa had died and gone to Heaven.
I told him that Santa was with Jesus now, and together, they would find his replacement.
Such a sweet soul lived inside that man, and as an example of this, one of T. Blue's last GREAT feats on this Earth was leading a man in the hospital with him to the Lord.
What a gift our Lord gave T. Blue this Christmas. It was only fitting that Jesus took Santa home five days before Christmas and allowed him to bring a guest!
How special! I mean, can you FATHOM that? Jesus called SANTA home at Christmas! Wow! If that doesn't make God personal to you, nothing will!
I know this was supposed to be WORDLESS Wednesday, but I needed to say my final good-bye to T. Blue. (Thank you all for indulging me.)
I picked T. Blue's picture as Santa for my WordLESS Wednesday post because, frankly, that picture says it all. A beautiful picture of a wonderful man.
Words can never express how much we will miss you Santa! Merry Christmas T. Blue....
