Well, I know that is a crazy picture! Isn't it?
I put all my stuff on my steps before I realized I didn't take a picture of them yet! Ha! Ha!
(...and if you're wondering why my stuff is on the step--our "stock" room is upstairs, so all my goodies go into storage up there until we need them and they have to come back DOWNstairs...)
This week was insane at CVS. I couldn't get there until yesterday, and I was sure all of the stuff would be gone by then. However, I headed into one of our local CVS stores armed with my bloggy scenario.
One of my bloggy buddies had come up with a neat scenario for beginners and I thought I'd try it too. Don't know why I couldn't come up with it on my own; I guess I was just "blogged-out" or something!
So, without any more hesitation, here is what I did. Hang on, it's a trip!
Transaction 1 (T1):
- 1 box of SoyJoy bars - $6 - $.50 ECB (coupon for $.50 ECBs printed out when we got into the store and scanned my card) plus tax = $5.61 Out of Pocket (OOP). Got $6 Extra Care Bucks back (ECBs). (.39 OVERAGE)
- 1 box of SoyJoy bars - $6 - $6 ECBs (from T1 above) = $.12 OOP + $6 ECBs back
- 1 box of SoyJoy bars - $6 - $6 ECBs (from T2 above) = $.12 OOP + $6 ECBs back
- 1 box of SoyJoy bars - $6 - $6 ECBs (from T3 above) = $.12 OOP + $6 ECBs back
- 1 box of SoyJoy bars - $6 - $6 ECBs (from T4 above) = $.12 OOP + $6 ECBs back
- 1 box of SoyJoy bars - $6 - $6 ECBs (from T5 above) = $.12 OOP + $6 ECBs back
- 3, Oust Air Sanitzers - $3.99 each - (1) BOGO Manufacturer Coupon (MQ) (-$3.99) - $2 MQ - $6 ECB (from T6 above, keyed down to $5.98) = $.84 OOP + $9 ECBs
- 1 GE Energy Smart bulb @ $2.99 + 1 Nivea Men's Body Wash @ $4.99 + (2) Nivea lip products @ $2.99 each + (1) candy item (filler item) - $1 GE MQ - $2 Nivea Body Wash MQ - BOGO Nivea MQ (-$2.99) - $9 ECBs from above = $1.57 (of which $1.01 was tax) + $5 ECBs back
******
I know it looks like a lot of hard work, but it really wasn't. I just told the cashier I was breaking up my transactions, and I had everything already separated and ready to go.
The CVS cashiers are used to breaking up transactions for people, and they can do it quickly.
The one thing I would like to say, though, is that IF YOU BREAK UP TRANSACTIONS (at CVS or any store for that matter), PLEASE be considerate of other patrons who may be in line behind you.
If I am breaking up transactions and people are behind me, I will normally stop what I am doing and let them checkout before finishing up my transaction(s).
It always pays to be kind and considerate to others around you. Remember that!
I hope you had successful shopping trips at CVS this week. They were running some really great specials!
For next week's CVS (and other store) match-ups, you can visit Jenny at Southern Savers.
