Wicked Breaks Records in Atlanta!

The producers of WICKED have announced that it has broken two all-time North American Touring box office records by grossing $2,864,958 for the eight-performance week-ending March 1, and $3,266,527 for the nine-performance week-ending March 8, during its recent return to Atlanta’s Fox Theatre February 18 - March 8!

These two weeks of WICKED in Atlanta also exceeded the all-time Broadway box office record for both an eight-performance week (set in January 2015), and a nine-performance week (set in December 2013), both previously set by WICKED!

“Atlanta audiences continue to embrace WICKED in a remarkable way,” commented Russ Belin, Vice President of Broadway in Atlanta. “That it continues to break records after more than 11 years since it debuted on Broadway is truly a testament to the connection that people of all ages feel to the show’s powerful message and extraordinary artistry. We are honored to have contributed to the show’s successful engagement, and we are so thankful to all of our patrons who attended.”

WICKED has been declared “A Cultural Phenomenon” by Variety and “The Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly. WICKED currently has six productions around the world, in New York, London, Australia, a U.K. Tour, and two concurrent North American National Tours.

Since its New York premiere over a decade ago, WICKED has grossed over $3.7 billion worldwide and has been seen by over 47 million people across the globe. WICKED has been performed in over 100 cities in 13 countries around the world (U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, Germany, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, The Philippines, and Mexico) and has thus far been translated into five languages: Japanese, German, Dutch, Spanish, and Korean.

Winner of over 100 international awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz.  Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz.  One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood.  The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.  WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
