SPECtacular CVS Run

Hello and welcome to my blog! To receive these deals daily, sign up for my **FREE** e-mail newsletter or subscribe to my automatic RSS feed. If you'd like a printable copy of this post, please see the link below. Thank you for stopping by!

I really need to post this on one of those bloggy carnival things, but who has the time anymore?

You can see, by my picture above, I'm not one of those grocery hoarders...I don't keep 100s of coupons around and grab up as much stuff as possible.  I only buy a few things with the small amount of coupons I keep.

I'm not blowing my own horn; I'm just putting that out there so you can see that couponing can be done easily without taking up a lot of your time or without needing a lot of storage space.

Here's how this shopping trip broke down:

  • FIRST TRANSACTION (Yes, FIRST transaction.   If you are buying multiple items and will be receiving multiple Extra Care Bucks [ECBs] back, take advantage of that fact and use those ECBs to pay for some of your purchases!)

Crest Prohealth - $2.75 (Didn't catch this - it should have been $3.50 w/$3.50 ECBs)
    Rightguard Total Defense 5 - $2.49 ($2 ECBs back)
    Rightguard Total Defense 5 - $2.49 ($2 ECBs back)
Covergirl lip product - $9.99 (BOGO promotion)
    Covergirl lip product - **FREE**
Covergirl lip product - $6.99 (BOGO promotion)
    Covergirl lip product - **FREE**
Fruit Stripe gum - FILLER ITEM (to cover balance & tax)

    Coupons:

    $2.50/2 Covergirl items
    $2.50/2 Covergirl items
    BOGO Covergirl item
    BOGO Covergirl item
    $3/2 Rightguard Total Defense 5
    $2 CVS ECBs

    GRAND TOTAL:  $.67

  • SECOND TRANSACTION

    Fig Newton (rain check)
    Fig Newton (rain check)
    CVS Sunscreen (rain check)
    CVS Sunscreen (rain check)

    Coupons:

    $1/1 (2x) Fig Newtons
    $4 CVS ECBs

    GRAND TOTAL:  $.73
Plus, I left with $9 in ECBs from my rain check products!

CVS, along with Publix, are normally going to be your best bets for **FREE** products with no hassles.  Walgreens is good for **FREEBIES** too, but their checkout system is a like putting a puzzle together.  (You have to know what you are doing BEFORE you go in because a lot of times the cashiers DON'T.)  Also, Walgreens is famous for keeping only a small amount of advertised inventory on hand, and unlike CVS, they will not issue Register Rewards once the sale is over.

Rite Aid is another good drug store.  They will issue rain checks and honor the advertised Single Check Rebates if the rebate period has expired.

Do you homework ahead of time, and you too can come away with shopping trips like this one!!

As always, if you have any questions, drop me a note, and I'll try and help you!
