Today's Groupon ATL deal is from Click Workshops:
Before photography, the only way people could preserve their most treasured memories was by forcing everyone around them to stand completely still for days at a time. Today's Groupon presents a less-complicated option—a class at Click Workshops. Depending on your experience and interests, choose from the following class options:
  • For $120, you get an introduction to digital photography class (a $245 value)
  • For $180, you get an advanced digital photography class (a $360 value)
  • For $95, you get an introduction to Photoshop, Elements, or Lightroom class (a $195 value)
Led by the aesthetically talented duo of Lori Gordon, the eye behind Shooting Star Photography, and Jody Williams, the index finger behind Jody Lynn Photography, among others, each Click class covers a wide range of techniques, tricks, and design elements through the lens of each student's respective camera.
Photography The introduction to digital photography class covers basic technical aspects, such as proper exposure, metering, and lighting, and also provides advice about posing subjects and where to print photos. After class, you'll leave with photography literature and access to the instructor's brains for any future photographic questions.
The advanced digital photography class is designed for students familiar with manual mode, basic aperture and shutter speed settings, and composition basics. Techniques covered include advanced composition and lighting techniques, raw images, outputting for the web, and vendor recommendations. Students depart with a gray card and a solution to successfully shooting in pitch black without using a flash. These 4.5-hour classes are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.
Photoshop The beginners' three-hour Photoshop class covers learning the Photoshop toolbar and interface, working with layers and layer adjustments, Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), and retouching to remove unsightly ear-canal monsters from your photos. The three-hour Elements for Photographers class compares Elements 9 to Photoshop CS5 and works through best practices for cropping, color pop, and working with layers. The Lightroom workshop combines students’ personal laptops with experiential learning as shutterbug scholars edit, crop, and balance pictures, bringing them to their full potential. In all three both classes, students will receive a batch of photos to edit.
For the Photoshop classes, students will need to submit one picture to the instructor prior to class and bring their personal laptop computers with either Photoshop CS2, CS3, CS4, or CS5, Elements 8 or 9, or Adobe Lightroom 3. For the digital photography classes, students must bring their own digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) with a charged battery, memory card, and corresponding manual.

Wow!  I may just be signing up for this!  You know how I love my camera!  Visit the Groupon ATL site to sign up.  Enjoy!
