To help customers welcome springtime with bright blooms, pretty perennials, and fresh fruits and veggies, the experts at Pike Nurseries are hosting a variety of FREE gardening classes all month long! With on-hand advice from planting professionals, guests of all gardening levels can transition their stark winter landscapes into cheerful crops of spring blossoms galore. 

Growing Great Tomatoes Class
Wednesday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

A juicy, vine-ripened tomato adds the perfect burst of flavor to spring and summer recipes! Better yet, homegrown tomatoes are a safe, economical food source and taste better than store-bought           edibles. Customers can take their pick from two offered classes to learn more about these delicious, nutrient-packed plants. With fresh advice from Pike Nurseries, these ruby-red favorites will be ripe for the picking!

Planning Your Spring Garden Class
Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m. and Sunday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

A great flower bed starts with planning! For a garden that sings a chorus of spring colors, guests will learn the basics of planning and planting annuals and perennials. Pike Nurseries experts will offer flower bed design tips and showcase which plants thrive best together in both sun and shade.

Edible Gardening in Containers and Raised Beds Class
Saturday, April 18 at 9 a.m., Sunday, April 19 at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, April 22 at 1 p.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

Even high rise dwellers can become gardeners! There are a variety of fruits, veggies and herbs that can flourish on the porch, patio or any small sunny space. Guests will learn expert tips and       techniques to make the most out of their limited areas. With professional advice from Pike Nurseries, even urban gardeners who are short on space can make a big impact!

Ladybug Weekend Event
Saturday, April 25 and Sunday April 26  at all Pike Nurseries store locations
 
Just as landscapes are springing back to life, many seasonal bugs are returning as well. Beneficial bugs, like Ladybugs, actually help keep plants healthy and strong! In honor of these beloved bugs,   Pike Nurseries is hosting its annual Ladybug Weekend and giving away 1 million ladybugs (one free packet per purchase) to help homeowners maintain a healthy, happy garden this spring.

Not all bugs are bad! As part of Ladybug Weekend, Pike Nurseries is hosting an informational class to teach guests about how certain creepy-crawlies – including ladybugs, praying mantis,      hoverflies and more – are actually beneficial to the garden.
